at one of their training bases at Carton House, Maynooth, Co Kildare to ensure all their medical equipment was present and accounted for before they departed for their 2017 tour of New Zealand.

The British & Irish Lions were formed in 1888 and tour the southern hemisphere countries of Australia, South Africa and New Zealand once every 4 years. The tour party consists of the best players from the home countries of Ireland, England, Scotland & Wales.

Vivomed are an official supplier to the British & Irish Lions and responsible for sourcing and supplying all the medical equipment for the tour which ranges from tearable elastic adhesive bandages and lifting blocks to help with lineout lifting, seriously strong Zinc Oxide Tape P to emergency equipment such as defibrillators and scoop stretchers.

Having worked with rugby clubs, provinces and international countries including the IRFU and RFU over many years, Vivomed were ideally placed at the forefront of sports medical equipment supplies to work with the prestigious British & Irish Lions 2017 Tour. In addition to this, Vivomed supplied the successful 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia.

Vivomed was selected to supply the medical equipment to the 2017 tour as they stock one of the widest ranges of sports medicine products available anywhere and are constantly developing and evaluating new products. Before the tour departed for New Zealand, Chris met with the official tour medical team to run through the itinerary and check if Vivomed could be of any further assistance.

During the visit, the squad were being put through their paces at the fantastic Carton House training camp. It was great to see the lineout lifting kits, knee taping, thumb taping and elbow taping kits in action as the squad of players prepared for the exciting 6 week tour of New Zealand.
